Saint Louis Wedding Photographer: St Alban's Old Barn Inn

The deep love that John feels for his sweet bride, Erica, was as plain as the socks on his feet the day of their gorgeous St. Albans country wedding.  No wait! The fuchsia-and-white striped socks that John and his groomsmen wore beneath their formal attire weren’t so “plain” after all. But they perfectly illustrated the fun and whimsy that followed this lovely couple through their adventures on this most special and memorable of wedding days.

In the hours leading up to the ceremony, the anticipation felt by both bride and groom was so great that it was infectious and hilarious.  Oh, young love!!  Erica’s warm smile and calming demeanor were the perfect antidote to John’s irrepressible exuberance.   Erica’s natural beauty was highlighted by her Berta gown from Bridal Galleria of San Francisco, and John’s three-piece tux from Spoon Tailor made him a dapper companion for his elegant bride.  The love radiating from the happy couple was joyfully reflected in the fuchsia bridesmaids’ dresses from Ultimate Bride in St. Louis, and the color-infused bouquets designed by the incredibly talented Jane Winters of Wildflowers.

More than one tear was shed during the ceremony (most notably the groom's), which had been expertly planned by Katie Saeger Events to capture the quiet beauty of an early fall day.  With its rich exposed rock, stone staircase, and serene lookout, the grounds of St. Alban’s Old Barn Inn and Studio Inn made a perfect outdoor setting for sharing vows.

Afterwards, while the bride and groom enjoyed a carriage ride through the grounds, courtesy of Brookdale Farms, the guests convened for the reception inside the Old Barn Inn.  Katie Saeger and Exclusive Events created a warm and inviting setting for the fun party that followed.  Catering St. Louis provided a scrumptious dinner which was followed by a delicious cake from Sarah’s Cake Shop.  Later Patrick Woolam and the Transients led the revelers in rocking the night away.

I would be remiss if I didn’t also mention my talented assistant photographer, Brent Holzapfel, who brilliantly captured the pre-wedding vibe in his photos of the groom and his groomsmen.  Along with his extraordinary photography skills, I appreciate his dependability, his calming influence, and the sense of joy he brings to our work.

There are few things greater than a young couple in love. “Nothing that a boy can do when he's got the fever for a girl,” declared Bruce Springsteen, and John has got the fever for sure. With a catch like Erica, it’s easy to see why. My wish is for them is that their love remain just as ardent as they enjoy a long and happy life together.
