Josephine Havlak is the photographer who first introduced – and continues to set the standard for – photojournalistic wedding photography in the St. Louis area.
A native St. Louisan and Mary Institute alum, she began her career in Houston after graduating from Rice University with a major in history and a minor in fine arts. Today, Josephine’s extraordinary talent and white-glove service have made her one of the most sought-after photographers in the region.
Josephine has photographed hundreds of St. Louis-area weddings, from lush outdoor weddings at the Missouri Botanical Gardens to formal nuptials at the St. Louis Cathedral. Her eye for natural light photography, candid photojournalistic style, and dogged determination to get every shot produce similarly stunning results in intimate chapel settings and rustic barn weddings alike.
Josephine is also known for her exquisite portraiture of children, graduates, debutantes, and brides as they complete important rites of passage. Her elegant compositions showcase her subjects with simple artistry and grace.
